For more than thirty years, Jim Heaney has been on a spiritual journey shaped by the Practice of Presence. A pivotal moment came in 1997 when he attended a Men’s Rites of Passage and awakened to the realization that he was not always living fully in the present. This experience led him to silence the noise and engage life at a deeper level.
For over twenty years, Jim has been practicing and teaching presence from a Christian perspective, encouraging people of all ages to bring this practice into every area of life—work, relationships, sports, arts, health, and more—for greater spiritual and physical well-being. He volunteers in prisons, guiding others in the practice of presence, and created resources to support this work, including the Practicing Presence App.
Jim is also the author of Choosing Presence, a christian meditation book that blends timeless wisdom with practical guidance, offering a path to peace and connection with God. He is the founder of Electronic Waveform Labs and lives with his wife, Patricia, in Huntington Beach, CA.

Jim Taylor is a pastor at the Mosaic Community Church in Seguin, TX. Jim is also a dedicated spiritual guide, wilderness wanderer, and a lover of the more-than-human-world. He has vast experience in leading men through rites of passage, and also guides men on their personal spiritual journeys as they seek to discover their own souls and elder wisdom.
For many years Jim has also been on a spiritual journey which led him into a friendship with Jim Heaney. He and Jim have been working collaboratively to introduce the practice of presence to others through mentoring individuals and leading group work.

Brian Mueller is the Director of Education & Engagement for ChoosingPresence.org, coordinating communication and community outreach from his home in Southwestern Ohio. He brings a thoughtful, creative approach to managing multiple websites, shaping digital content, and fostering meaningful connection through online platforms.
A published poet with multiple volumes to his name, Brian anchors his life in a daily writing practice and a commitment to uncovering deeper meaning and beauty in everyday experience. He finds renewal in honest storytelling, soulful reflection, and active leadership in the Ohio Chapter of Illuman, an organization supporting men on their spiritual journeys.
