“It takes real men pursuing Christ, this process, and presence to become better men with everlasting change for their families and communities.”
by Luis “Lucho” Haro
Practicing presence has been one of God's greatest gifts in my life. It has helped me begin healing from lingering wounds from past relationships that affected me deeply for years. As a man, I often felt like I had to carry those struggles alone because it seemed like my pain did not matter, and that only made it harder to break down the walls I had built around my heart.
Over time, those open wounds caused me to take out my frustrations on my wife and kids, and our relationship began moving in the wrong direction. The greatest affirmation came when my wife told me she had noticed a huge change in me. She said she always knew the man I could become because she saw it in my eyes the first day we met, but she didn't know if I would ever be willing to look for him.
Thank you, Patricia, for loving me and believing I would look for my true self. I thank God for his grace because he knows that I'm striving to be a good father to my son and daughter, just as he is a Father to me.
It takes real men pursuing Christ, this process, and presence to become better men with everlasting change for their families and communities. Thank you, Jim Heaney, Jim Taylor, and Brian for allowing me to be a part of this process in presence.
